Mage guide

Mages are the most conservative rework: six new talents, and every capstone — Arcane Power, Combustion, Ice Barrier — is the Classic one. What is new is the connective tissue: Arcane Blast and Missile Barrage in Arcane, Hot Streak in Fire, Ice Lance and Fingers of Frost in Frost. The trainable Frostfire Bolt is both Fire and Frost, and four talents reference it.

First three steps · Frost

  1. Import the Frost leveling build; your first point at 10 goes into Improved Frostbolt
  2. Set up the "Frostbolt rank 1 to slow for less mana" macro (level 4)
  3. At 13–18, run Halls of Thane (Dun Morogh, beneath Ironforge)
