How to install

Two minutes, four steps. If the addon does not show up in game, the last section covers every reason we have actually seen.

1
Download the zip
Either link works — the direct one does not need a CurseForge account.
2
Find your AddOns folder
Windows — if you installed the game somewhere else, the part before World of Warcraft changes, the rest does not:
C:\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft\_retail_\Interface\AddOns
macOS:
/Applications/World of Warcraft/_retail_/Interface/AddOns
Cannot find it? In the Battle.net launcher click the gear next to Play → Show in Explorer / Reveal in Finder, then open _retail_ → Interface → AddOns.
3
Unzip both folders into AddOns
The zip contains two folders. Both go directly inside AddOns:
AddOns\GearInsight\ AddOns\GearInsight_Talents\
Both folders are required. With only the main one, the talent-library button fails to load. And do not nest — if you end up with AddOns\GearInsight-0.75.1\GearInsight\, move the inner folders up one level.
4
Restart the game and check
If the game was running, fully exit and relaunch (a /reload is not enough for a newly added addon). Then type /gi in chat — the panel should open.

Not showing up?

The addon list does not show it at all

At the character screen click AddOns (bottom left) and tick "Load out of date AddOns". Also check you extracted into _retail_ and not _classic_ / _classic_era_.

I see a folder named after the zip

That is the zip's own name — one level too deep. Open it, and move GearInsight and GearInsight_Talents up into AddOns directly.

The panel opens but there is no data

Data is baked into the addon, nothing to download in game. If a spec shows no data it usually means that spec has too few logged parses this season — the panel says so instead of guessing.

How do I update later?

Overwrite the two folders with the new ones, or let the CurseForge app update it. Your settings live in the WTF folder and are not touched.
